Installation Considerations for Gas Cylinder Storage Cabinets

Table of Content [Hide]

Gas cylinder storage cabinets are also an indispensable part of laboratory equipment. As one of the gas cylinder cage cabinets manufacturers, SAI-U products have excellent performance across various aspects, making it your top choice! Therefore, having relevant knowledge about the installation and use of gas cylinder storage cabinets is essential. Do not install and use them blindly, as this will only create safety hazards and usage obstacles.

Installation Notes of Gas Cylinder Storage Cabinets

    • There should be a 220V power interface or an explosion-proof power socket near the gas cylinder storage cabinet to provide power for alarm detection and monitoring.

    • The alarm detection probe should be installed at the upper interface of the gas cylinder storage cabinet or in places where the gas type is likely to accumulate. If it is a flammable gas with a specific gravity greater than air, it should be installed at a lower position, preferably 50-80CM from the bottom of the cabinet.

    • According to the cylinder storage situation, configure dedicated gas detection alarms for combustible and toxic gases, with air diffusion sampling. When it reaches the concentration set by the chip setting, it will automatically alarm and start the fan system connected to the alarm output socket for linkage. (Note: All values are accurately set at the factory, please do not change them arbitrarily.)

    • At the beginning of use, when the gas-sensitive element is initially powered on, a decrease in resistance between its measuring poles may occur, causing an alarm output buzz, which is normal and usually does not exceed 5 minutes. After heating completes, the element can enter the monitoring state.

    • The operational procedure is as follows:

Press the switch button, the indicator light will turn on, indicating it has entered the monitoring state. At the start of testing, introduce a small amount of test gas directly to the upper ventilation part of the probe, not exceeding 2 seconds. The alarm indicator light will turn on, the buzzer will output, the exhaust fan will start, and return to normal automatically after 30 seconds. After testing is complete, the gas cylinder storage cabinet can run normally. Do not shut down the system while replacing cylinders or removing empty ones to ensure continuous monitoring.

Precautions for Using Gas Cylinder Storage Cabinets

    • Put gas cylinders of the same type in the same cabinet, do not mix them.

    • When installing the gas cylinder storage cabinet, place it against the wall and adjust it to level.

    • Perform a weekly check of the alarm. Usually, use a lighter close to the air inlet port without lighting it to release gas for a few seconds. If the alarm responds and emits a sound and light alarm, it is normal; otherwise, it is abnormal and should be inspected and repaired by a professional (Note: During the inspection, do not spray a large amount of high-concentration gas directly on the internal sensor of the alarm to avoid damaging the sensor.)

    • Keep the cabinet clean, regularly remove dust or other debris from the sensor air inlets.
